one would think by being a tax-free organization there would be oodles of money saved up....but with this new tithing arrangement, something smells really bad.

they key to free yourself from the organization is having mental clarity of what is happening in relation to the watchtower, inside and out.

their basic concept is that they are god's sole organization on earth.

there really is no basis for anyone to make that statement.

If I asked for a loan from the WBTS would they give it to me?

if this were the "organization" that jesus chose in 1914.. err 1919, wouldn't the principles that he laid out while on earth apply to this organization as well?.

matthew 5:42 "give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.".

so if jw's all asked for loans from the org, every now and then, it would be the orgs responsibility to grant those loans (interest free).

Rooming request

we received a phone call from the summer convention rooming department representative.

he requested that our complimentary room payment for our three day stay be paid at the rooming dept.

and not to the hotel.

How much longer for the congregation book (sorry bible) study?

after the recent decision to ditch the cbs during the circuit visit, i've started wondering if it is the first step to losing it altogether.

at the current rate, the draw close book will be finished at the end of next year.

based on the way things are going, even the most recent publications will be out of date by then (acts book and organization brochure were out of date when studied) so what is the point of doing them.

you maintained a level of personal decency and integrity that you almost certainly would not have had if you had chosen another direction.. sure, you would have had some very "colorful" friends and experiences if you had gone another way, but you still chose the more "edgy" people in the congregation as your friends and you still enjoyed yourself, even if there were a lot of phony constraints.. you looked for ways to be of value to others.

don't stop doing that!.

you kept the darker side of your personality in check.

in a way, it just feels like you're in prison for life without any chance of parole. I mean, there are no real physical guards, but there are many, many guards on every corner, doorway, tower and post in a way. Constant monitoring by elders, family asking where you've been, so called friends gossiping about your absence and so forth, there are many guards watching you in a sense, escape is very difficult.
